Idea Napkin No.2
19A- Idea Napkin No.2
Since my feedback for the
first idea napkin was positive and well organized I have the same message for
some areas such as my introduction and who I’m offering to and why. There was
no negative feedback so I went with if it’s not broke don’t fix it.
1. My name is Melody Ocasio and I am a sophomore at UF. I am
a Journalism major on the Pre-Optometry track with hopes of doing medical
research after post grad, so my schedule semester after semester is rigorous
and busy. I believe more parking on campus is needed due to the fact that I am on
campus for a majority of the day and noticed that not just myself but students and
faculty struggle to park (which should be the least of their worries).
2. I would offer a multilevel garage for cars and
scooter/motorcycles on campus. This garage would obtain multiple monitors, one at
the entrance indicating if a floor is full, one to indicate how many spaces are
left on a floor and what spaces in a row are available. This would reduce
the congestion of traffic and overall waste of time that students/faculty loose
when going in circles looking for a spot.
3. I am offering this product to college campuses due to the
limited space they a lot for parking. My garages would either be built off of
the current garage systems a university has or create the most optimal space for
a new one.
4. Students and Faculty currently pay for decals that don’t
guarantee them a space, but incorporating these multilevel garages would almost
guarantee a space in different locations on campus due to the size increase.
Students and Faculty need this commodity, because for some finding a parking
spot on campus is a luxury.
5. From the ideas I have I believe the multilevel garage for
scooter/motorcycles would set me apart. I have never seen my idea for a smaller
mode of transportation incorporated in another establishment before.
In regards to the multilevel floor for cars, that is something
UF already obtains, however the monitor system would benefit the consumer with
the flow of traffic. In regards to the multilevel scooter/motorcycle garage I
believe It is a product that would benefit the population that uses smaller
motor vehicles for it is adaptable to the little space the University provides for
them.Since they are so small, actual spots would be drawn out much like a car
parking garage, however, unlike a car garage more vehicles would be able to fit
on one floor of the scooter/motorcycle garage due to the size of the vehicle.
Hi Melody! I like your Idea Napkin No. 2, but I was hoping to see some things added on in some areas, for example the first part about yourself since we did the five interviews with the people closest to us. I think it would’ve been a nice add-on because it helps set yourself apart from other people in terms of character traits. I really like your idea about the scooter parking garage, though. I’ve never seen one before, and with the number of scooters I’ve seen around campus, it does sound really helpful.
ReplyDeleteHi Melody!
ReplyDeleteThere is no doubt that your product is much needed at UF. I have seem something similar at Downtown Disney! There is a lot of congestion in that area due to all the tourists but the screen that tells you how many spots are on each level makes such a difference. Once you get on that level, it tells you down each row how many spots are available which reduces the amount of cars that get stuck down each row! Overall, very impressed with your assignment.
