Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage

23A- Your Venture’s Unfair Advantage

1.     Monitoring system can be an add on to pre-existing garage systems
V- buyer will not have to have purchase a whole new garage system if monitors are wanted
R- most companies require a specific garage contracted in order for the system to be used
I-this idea isn’t hard to copy but the mentality of most Is money so they will not offer it
N-so far none I am aware of
2.     Product relates to just about any area that requires human interaction
V-good for my companies profit; arenas, airports, universities, shopping malls and much more require garages (so why not high-tech ones)
R-high tech garages are still not a norm in the states, so it would be rare in this context
I-yet again people can copy but my company will have the best mot economic option, coming out with improvements regularly
N-other companies specializing in high tech garages
3.     Pricier than regular garage, yet more efficient
V-produces better flow of traffic and safer driving
R-most have not experienced a high-tech garage so the experience is something in in of itself
I-not difficult to copy however difficult to improve upon once it is built
N-any company who wants to try and specialize
4.     High-tech garage will attract younger entrepreneurs
V-Those that have businesses that want to attract customers will purchase my product
R-depends on the region
I-product easy to copy, efficiency is not
N- again depends on who specializes in the product
5.     No extra cost to the consumer for using
V-consumer gets benefits of easy parking with no extra cost to them
R-consumers will like the product and want to shop/participate in more areas where the garage is located
I-some companies may want to charge consumers for using the high-tech garage
N-other companies who specialize in these garages
6.     Garage can fit in any local
V-can work for any big or small location
R-can function for places that have limited space such as campuses
I-fairly easy
N-not unless they specialize in these garages
7.     Product also equipped for smaller vehicles (scooter/motorcycle)
V-the overlooked vehicles will get more space to park
R-multilevel high-tech scooter/motorcycle garages do not exist
I-not hard to copy but most will not due to not as much revenue made
N-no other resources can provide as much space
8.     Product can be customized for the buyer
V-buyer conducts how many floors, how much of the high-tech system and square footage garage will be
R-most companies do a generic take everything or leave it garage
I-easy to copy but most will not let buyers customize
N-no, unless another company does customization
9.     More appealing to consumers
V- easier to use than most garages
R- to most of society it is rare
I-easy to copy
N-no
10.  Clean Product
V- simple to construct and simple to learn
R-no training required to the consumer
I-easy to copy
N-no

My top resource I believe incorporates the buyer customizing their product. Most garages are mainstream and have many floors. With my high-tech garage not only are the floors and square footage picked by the buyer but parts of the high-tech garage system as well. Meaning they don’t have to have the monitors in the entrance of the garage as well as a monitor on each floor indicating how many spots on a floor are available, along with the light system that indicates what spot is available in each row. They can be chosen separately or together. I believe this is very appealing to a buyer for they are the judge of how expensive their garage will be.

  1. Hey Meoldy,

I think you did a really good job describing your potential business’ resources. I agree with you that your strongest resource is the customization of the customers product. This will definitely put you at a tremendous advantage over your competitors because people will be able to make the experience/ product special to themselves and this will lead to much better customer satisfaction. Great job!

  2. Hi Melody!

I was very impressed with how a majority of your advantages had to deal with the product itself. It shows your deep understanding of the product you came up with. As I was reading through the advantages, I thought customization was your top resource and then when I got to the bottom where you said it yourself, it just reassured my thinking!
